While the jury is out on Lindsay Lohan’s participation in the Ungaro Spring 2010 collection shown at Paris Fashion Week, two things are for sure: Highlighter-bright contrasting is hotter than ever, and pasties are slowly making their transition from strip clubs to streetwear.
On the latter fashion note, we’ve seen pasties on fashion-forward celebrities like Rihanna and Lady Gaga for months, but most designers have shied away from using them in their runway collections. The Ungaro Spring 2010 collection uses pasties to give some pop to white outfits and paired bright colors for maximum optical effect. Check out some of my favorite pieces from the collection above, and check out Coutorture for more images
Jan Masny is a fashion photographer based in London, England. He’s a talented professional who apparently has an affinity for beautiful women in strange headgear. But who can blame him when they see these ethereal images?
Although it isn’t something you will be seeing on the street any time soon, his work could be sported by the adventurous types at the next Kentucky Derby. You can check out more work by Jan Masny by clicking the link below.
The designers created gowns fit for a princess in layer upon layer of pastel tulle, then sheared off edges, looking as if they swung a machete in the absence of scissors. It was an impressive manipulation of a fragile fabrication, and nothing short of a runway art exhibit.
